GartPlan version 2.010

General

Backup to a removable media. It is now possible to utilize more types of removable medias (CD-RW, USB-disks etc.) for backing up data. As these drives normally are having lots of space, a new field ”Wipe disk” has been introduced to mark whether the media should be wiped prior to backing up or not. If you want to reuse the same media for backing up from more Gart–programs then the field should be cleared.

Sorting records in files. All basic files having a number for identification and a descriptor, can now be sorted according to number or according to description. This is done by clicking the column header above the field to be used as index. Possible sorting fields are marked with an arrow. You may also change sorting order by pressing the [F8] key.

Searching in files. All text fields can now be used for an incremental search in the current file. By means of the [F3] key a search dialog can be invoked, in which the search criterion is entered. By any change in the search text the file will place itself on the record matching the search text the best. When the wanted record appears the ”OK” button is clicked. Canceling the search will place the file on the record that was the current record prior to the search. In this context ”text fields” means fields the can be edited arbitrarily.

Export to Excel. Almost all reports can now be exported to the spreadsheet Excel. During the export a new worksheet is created which is filled in making it look like the actual report in the extent possible. After the export the spreadsheet may either be saved as is or used as source for moving data to other spreadsheets for further processing.

File shortcuts. In all file entries you may now jump directly from a reference field to the file that the field refers to. Being placed in a reference field you may by means of the [Alt+F3] key jump directly to the underlying file, which will place itself on the record matching the contents of the field. In “non tabular” file entries the jump may also be done by clicking the prompt text of the field which in this way acts as a hyperlink on a web page.

Field delimitation. In most files with a large number of records you can now by means of the [Alt+F8] key delimit the records shown to those having the same contents as the current field.

The glasshouse file has been renamed to “section file” and the area structure is now made up by departments which may be subdivided in sections. Each section is associated with a bench type referring to the bench file found under “Files/Greenhouse/Bench types”.
As described in the following, a number of facilities have been introduced for planning based on bench types and the number of benches. (Standard and Maxi)

Under “General/Setup/Settings” a new field has been introduced for indication whether fields for bench type and number of benches are to be displayed in the planning file. (Standard and Maxi)

Under “General/Data import” it is possible to import starting quantities to the planning file or re-served sales quantities to the new reservations file. Se below.
When importing to the planning file it must be specified which plan no. that will be imported into. You can choose between 2 import file formats. GartPlan format or DanPot format (The later is a Danish selling system). Both file formats uses a "comma separated ascii" format, where each field is separated by a comma (",").
Prior to importing in GartPlan-format the “goods table” in the crop file must be filled in with all goods numbers in order to associate any goods with a crop. More goods may be defined under each crop thus accumulating the goods from the selling on a few crops.
The file format is described in the User’s Guide. (Maxi)

The menu item for data export has been moved from “Control/Data export” to “General/Data export”. The user can now decide where to place the resulting export file. The placing is remem-bered.
The layout of the export file has been extended with additional fields, as described in the User’s guide. (Maxi)

Files

The glasshouse file has been renamed to ”Section file”.
The file is for each section containing fields for indication of bench type and the number of ben-ches. On basis of these indications the program calculates the net area of the section. If the net area is entered directly the corresponding number of benches will be calculated correspondingly.
The gross area is entered directly and the corresponding area factor is calculated and displayed next to it. Changing the area factor will change the gross area as well.
Furthermore a function for calculating the net area for a set of sections based on their bench types and number of benches has been introduced. (Standard and Maxi)

In the period lines in the department file the field ”Growth light” has changed to ”Inst. W/m²”, as the control of growth light facilities in the planning file and the plan control report now control whether the ”Inst. W/m²” is larger or equal to the required capacity according the light table. (Maxi)

In the crop file a term ”Main crop” has been introduced. This is used for handling varieties. An indication of “0” (zero) will cause the crop to be handled as in previous versions. If another crop is entered in the field then this will be regarded as main crop for the current crop, which itself becomes a variety crop. Variety crop uses the batch definitions from its main crop in all analyses and calculations. (Maxi)

A new field “Color” has been introduced for indication of which color is to be used when includ-ing the crop in the set of “fixed crops” in the planning graphics. (Maxi)

The crop copying function [F6] has been extended with an option whether the crop also is to be copied in the current plan. (Standard and Maxi)

Copying of selling prices has been extended and it is now possible to copy the selling prices for the current crop to a set of other crops. (Standard and Maxi)

A new sub-table has been introduced for indication of the numbers used when selling the current crop as finished goods. These goods numbers are used when importing data. (Maxi)

In the batch file a new function for mass copying of batch/phase data has been introduced. The function offers the possibility of selecting which fields or group of fields that should be included in the copy. The copy is restricted to batch recipes having the same number of phases as the source batch. (Maxi)

In the batch/phase file a new function for adjustment of ”pl./m²” has been introduced. The func-tion contains fields for indication of bench type, plants per bench, plants per m², number of ben-ches, and number of plants for each phase. If the contents of one or more fields are changed then all other fields are adjusted correspondingly. Using the buttons in the dialog it is possible to get the current values for pl. /m² in the phase lines or to save the function result (pl./m²) on each phase line.
For an overview of the impact of changing the different fields in the dialog, please refer to the User’s Guide. (Standard and Maxi)

If a phase line contains more operations than is immediately visible on the general tab this s marked with ”*” next to the text on the operations tab. (Standard and Maxi)

In the upper part of the planning file additional fields for bench type and number of benches ha-ve been introduced.
Based on the number of plants and the bench type the number of benches is calculated. Changing the number of benches will adjust the number of plants correspondingly. (Standard and Maxi)

Similarly, on the phase lines an additional field for indication of the section, in which the batch is placed in the current phase, has been introduced. In calculated fields the corresponding bench type and number of benches is shown for each phase. (Standard and Maxi)

If the department field on a phase line is yellow then this indicates that one or more requirements are not met. I.e. growth light, CO2, black out, or outdoor. The conflict arises, if the batch recipe for the current batch in the current phase requires facilities that are not found in the indicated de-partment. The information tab shows the lacking facilities. (Maxi)

Similarly, a yellow colored section field signals that the section is not part of the current depart-ment as defined in the section file. (Maxi)

Planning graphics.
The line used as a gauging value i graphics has been changed from yellow to black as yellow tended to be almost invisible in some graphics.

The display of ”Fixed crops” in graphics has been changed, and now all crop can be assigned different colors. The color is assigned in the crop file as described above.
The function for selecting which crops are to be ”Fixed” has changed and there now is correspondence between the order in the dialog and the graphics. (Maxi)

New Reservations file.
In the reservations file any reserved selling quantities are entered with crop, time (week), and quantity. Reservations may for documental reasons be specified by goods numbers, but in re-ports it is the total for each crop that will be printed. Reservations may be entered directly or may be imported from an external selling system.
The file is used when printing out reservations lists, in which the sales quantities from the pro-duction, the reservations, and any surplus/shortfalls are shown.
In the planning graphics showing sales quantities any reserved quantities for the current will be displayed thus making I possible visually to control whether the production will lead to surpluses or shortfalls. (Maxi)

File reports

Batch/phase design.
New file report which in its default layout only includes the most important phase data thus reducing the extent of the report compared with the previous version of the batch/phase report. (Standard and Maxi)

The report has layout capabilities making it up to the user to design custom reports with only those data that are needed for some purpose. (Maxi)

Batch/Normtime design.
New file report which in its default layout includes phase operations together with their corresponding normtimes. (Standard and Maxi)

The report has layout capabilities making it up to the user to design custom reports with only those data that are needed for some purpose. (Maxi)

Additional reports

In all crop analyses it is now possible to delimit the analyses to include only those batches that are part of the current plan. (Standard and Maxi)

In all plan based reports the current plan name is included in the header of the report.

Hour use.
It is now possible to delimit the report with regards to operations.

Waste analysis.
New report showing the waste quantities in the plan, optionally divided into production waste and sales waste.
Sales waste is defined as waste occurring during phases having a sales percent greater than 0. Production waste is defined as all other waste (Standard and Maxi)

Stock-taking.
In the stock-taking report starting licenses are now showed on a line of its own like in budgets.

The Batch plan can now be exported like all other reports.

In the production plan 2 additional reporting types have been introduced. These show the production plan in number of benches only or in number of plants and benches. (Standard and Maxi)

Norm time report
New report that per crop/batch/phase shows the planned operations with corresponding norm times and hours needed. Furthermore quantities such as the number of plants started, the current number of plants, and sales quantities are listed.

Using a custom layout it is possible to include further information e.g. weeks that will make the figures appear per week. (Maxi)

Reservations.
New report that per period and per crop retrieves an account of sales quantities from the produc-tion, reservations (if any), and corresponding surplus/shortfalls. The user decides which columns are to be included in the report. (Maxi)

Fixed errors

In the sales survey the amount column was wrongly included in the basis version of GartPlan.

The field ”Digits in crop no.” in the greenhouse file could after a conversion cause an error in some entries.

Crop file, Year offset selling prices.
When entering a period of e.g. 1-52, selling price intervals starting with week 52 were not in-cluded in the copy. Furthermore, the copy wasn’t capable of handling week 53 in all cases.

Crop file, Graphics simulation.
The crop no. field didn’t respond correctly to changes in the crop file, even with synchronization enabled.

Batch file, Copy field.
When copying the waste and/or the sales percentage it was possible to circumvent the require-ment that the sum of the two must not exceed 100%.

Batch analysis in the batch and planning files.
Any changes in the basic data in the greenhouse, departments, operations, or materials files did not make it through to the analysis, until the file entry was reopened.

Planning file, F6-Copy.
The year was not proposed correctly (previous year) if the current batch was batch no. one.
